PARALLEL parking and emergency stops held no fear for Brian Scott, who has won a regional bus driver of the year contest.
Mr Scott, from Pelton, near Chester-le-Street, County Durham, has scooped the title of Go North East Driver of the Year and a cheque for £250 after an exacting analysis of his driving.
During the annual test, eight finalists were put through advanced theory and legislation tests, questioned on health and safety and had to pass a series of driving and manoeuvring exercises.
The finalists were also assessed while driving on the road and had their driving history looked at.
Mr Scott will now go through to the finals in Blackpool this September, along with Michael Davison, who is based at Go Northern's Bishop Auckland depot. Michael won second place in the regional heat. Both winners work for Go Northern, a subsidiary of Go North East
