JUBILEE SEATS: Parish councillors are to buy public seats to commemorate the Queen's Golden Jubilee.
Members agreed that one seat should be placed in the Leeming Bar play area. Councillor David Lumley, chairman, suggested that metal seats should be bought and said a local craftsman could make them at a cost of about £500 a seat, carrying a guarantee for 30 years. The matter is to be discussed at the next meeting.
ROAD COMPLAINTS: Coun Smith complained about the road surface at Ashlands Drive, Lowlands Drive and Roughley Bank at Leeming Bar and said there was no bus stop in Low Street, Leeming Bar, although buses travelled along that road.
CORONATION PLAQUE: Lou Dale, of Leeming Bar, has offered if necessary to repaint the 1953 Coronation plaque on the lamp-post rediscovered last year after trees surrounding the Northern LPG Supplies depot were cut down.
