SCHOOL PLAN: Councillors raised no objections to a proposed teaching extension at the village school.
The application was discussed and a reply sent to North Yorkshire County Council to meet the planning deadline, but the need for an extension was queried when an application for a new school was recently made to the Government.
CALL SUPPORTED: Members agreed to support a call by the Hambleton and Richmondshire Rural Transport Partnership for low-floor buses to be introduced on local services.
NEW ROOF: No objections were raised to plans for a pitched roof instead of the existing flat one at the Methodist chapel, and the installation of replacement windows.
INFO ON WAY: Parishioners who have expressed a wish to be involved in future developments will receive a copy of the analysis and a written invitation to the meeting. It is hoped that small groups can be set up to investigate the main points identified in the questionnaire replies.
SIGN SWITCH: The sign for the footpath at Hunters Hill Farm was recognised to be in the wrong place and would be moved to the corner of the field. Two stiles recently erected would be lowered as they were considered too high. No objections were raised to a footpath diversion order at West Pasture Farm.
