THE owner of a stolen greyhound puppy is offering a cash reward for information leading to its safe return.
The six-month-old dog was stolen from a compound in Witton-le-Wear last Wednesday evening.
A kennel-hand saw two men run towards a blue Nissan Micra with the puppy at about 6.30pm.
The dog's owner, Harry Williams, who breeds and races greyhounds, is now offering a reward.
Mr Williams, a businessman, said: "My wife and I are not just concerned about the financial loss but are concerned about the dog's safety and welfare.
"It has always been kept with its parents and siblings so will find it distressing being away from them. The sooner we get her back, safe and well, the better the reward."
The dog, which is black with white feet, has DPT7 tattooed on its right ear. Anyone with information is asked to call the police on (01388) 603566.
