OASIS, the bad boys of Britpop, made a triumphant return to the North-East with a sell-out concert last night.
Thousands of fans from across the region packed Newcastle's Telewest Arena to see the band perform - and the Gallagher brothers did not disappoint their fans as they played some of their biggest anthems.
The band has struggled to regain the popularity they enjoyed after bursting on to the music scene in the mid-1990s.
But with a new album - Heathen Chemistry - and a stream of sell-out dates across the country, the band looked to be discovering their old form.
A lively crowd was full of would-be Liams and their idol was true to form, oozing plenty of his trademark attitude.
With a swig of beer and plenty of swagger the band took to the stage at 9pm. Their opening number, Hello (It's Good To Be Back) got the show off to a flying start.
To chants of "Oasis" from the crowd, the band got huge cheers with hits such as What's The Story (Morning Glory) and their latest release Stop Crying Your Eyes Out.
The fans came to rock and they weren't disappointed.
