YOUNGSTERS let their imaginations run riot in a school production which transported them to Dreamtime.
Pupils from Cockton Hill Junior School, Bishop Auckland, took to the stage this week with a play that tells the story about a magical digeridoo which transports a group of children to a place from Aboriginal mythology controlled by an evil shaman.
The original screenplay was written by year six pupils with help from King James I Community College drama teacher Stephen Elliott. It features original music by Les Watts, of Bishop Barrington School.
Cockton Hill pupils have been performing their own productions for several years, but this is the first time they have used their new stage, which the Friends of the School helped to buy.
Teacher Janet Balmer said: "It is a tremendous amount of work for the staff and children but well worth the team effort to produce such a fantastic show."
