LIFESIZE models are on the march from youth clubs across County Durham.
Young crafts people have devised an array of original figures, several based loosely on some of the characters seen in films such as Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings.
But, under the expert eye of community art worker Olwyn Smith, more figures are taking shape in craft sessions at the county's youth clubs. The aim is to fill an exhibition display with the lifelike models at County Hall, Durham, as part of National Youth Week celebrations later this year.
Titled March of the Warriors, the project has so far involved youth clubs at Langley Park, Moorside, Oxhill, Hesleden and Lanchester. But more will come on board by the time the County Hall display is staged, in October.
Carole Pike, admin officer for overseeing group Youth Clubs County Durham (YCCD), said: "You could say the 'March of the Warriors' is growing."
