SUNDAY saw the Seaton Delaval Motor Club hold their North East Centre Northumbria Gulf Trophy Trial at Ridsdale in Northumberland.
An entry of 56 riders rode three separate courses - experts, clubmen and easy - all of four laps with ten sections.
Mike Phillipson, from Willington, rode the expert course on his Beta for the loss of a single mark. No doubt his recent experience in the world trials championship round, where all the sections were very big rocks, helped him on this course, which was in and around an old quarry.
Second place went to Colin Ward from Stanley, who dropped 24 marks on his Sherco. Third best performance came from Carl Shaw, also on a Sherco, who finished ten marks behind Ward.
