Title favourites in all three divisions went down to defeat last week. Shotton Palms came through to win the decider at First Division champions, Old Shildon when Barry Hall beat Steven Bennett in the decider.
Earlier Michael Pratt with breaks of 40 and 34 and Billy Goggins took frames for Shildon, whilst Paul Hickman and Jimmy Evans replied.
In the Second Division, the leaders, Newhouse Club led with wins from John Maddox and Ian Dinsdale in their home match against Spennymoor B. However the Moors fought back to level through Wayne Parry and Kurt McCormack and then in the decider the visitors went to victory when Alan Clark beat Jimmy Hassen.
A weakened Wingate side visited Coundon in the Third Division and quickly trailed by three points when the home side had wins from Gary Goulbourn, Frank Nicholson and Dennis Payne. The visitors fought back with wins from Joe hennessy and Geoff Howe.
The First Division leaders, Fishburn A trailed the visiting Brandon by two points after Kevin Sample and Brian Graham won. However John Carter began the home revival with the top break of the week of 58 and then John Griffin levelled the match. In the decider Fishburn's Wayne Oliver beat Graeme Jackson. This pushed Fishburn two points ahead of Old Shildon, with Wheatley Hill A a further two points adrift.
Crook Belle Vue went two points clear at the top of the Second Division when the visiting Stanley Central only took one point when Walter Cornell won. The home winners were Harold Lomax, John Warriner, Derek Potts and Arnold Fleming. Newhouse and Langley Park share second place, two points ahead of Sherburn Village and Spennymoor B.
Leeholme B put up the performance of the week when they travelled to Third Division leaders and were just pipped in the decider. Neil Phillips put the home side ahead but then Ray Gill and Mark Brown won for Leeholme. In the decider Crowtrees Sean Johnston was stretched to beat Brian Harrison. This result leaves Crowtrees two points ahead of Wingate, with Coundon a further four points adrift.
Witton Gilbert produced the shock result of the First Division when they travelled to Wheatley Hill A and only dropped the last point when Hack Wright won for the Hill. Paul Nord gave the visitors a great start with a 41 break and he was followed with wins from Ian Renwick, Ian Kerr and John Rooney senior. The Witton side were without their secretary, Malcolm Peart, who suffered severe multiple fractures of the leg. The League Officials and all the players send their best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Langley Park moved up to share second place with Newhouse in the Second Division after they beat the visiting Fishburn B by the odd point. Winston Hodgson took the first frame and Alan Wilson the last for Fishburn but the Park went to victory with wins from Kevin Keers, Paul Morgan and Ray Coates.
Ferryhill pulled off a very god home win over Willington, whose only point came from Tom Parkin. The home side had wins from Bernie Jones with a 32 break, Neil Spender, Ian Fawcett and Glynn Toas.
Spennymoor A whitewashed the visiting Newton Aycliffe with wins from John Wilson, Ronnie Bateman, Karl Welsh, Paul Biddle and Paul Atkinson.
Sherburn Village moved back among the leading pack in the Second Division after they only dropped one point to the visiting Wheatley Hill B, who had Steve Cave as their only winner. The home points came from Peter McGowan, Adrian twist, Scott Mallaburn and John Bower.
Meadowfield moved up the Second Divison after dropping only one point to the visiting Durham City. Norman Smith, John Jackson, Stephen Hughes and CraigHughes scored the points for the home side with Kevin Smith replying for the City.
Hunwick beat the visiting Sacriston side by the odd point with wins from Neville Blenkinsopp, Tom Ward and Barry Fleming. The replies came from Dale Evans and Willy Nixon.
Tow Law were never headed when they visited Leeholme A but needed a deciding point from Heppell Hodgson against Ken Robinson to make the win. Tommy Williams put the Lawyers ahead with Barry Shaw levelling. Charlie Donaghy restored the visitor's lead but then Ian North set up the decider.

Darlington Snooker Club A's lead at the top of the First Division was cut to two points after they dropped a point to the visiting Railway Institute, whilst their nearest rivals, Hopetown whitewashed their hosts at Barnard Castle Glaxo. Hopetown now lead third placed, Harrowgate Hill by eight points.
The three leading teams in the Second Division all won by two points, leaving Darlington Snooker Club C one point ahead of Bishop Auckland Cricket Club and two ahead of Darlington Riley's.
