A total of 33 talented students competed in Hurworth Comprehensive School's annual talent show.
There were 19 different performances from the pupils, aged between 11 and 15, with the winners chosen by the audience of 150 fellow pupils and parents on Tuesday. The winning act was Kirsty Banks, 15, and Leanne Robson, 14, who performed a dance routine to Blow My Whistle, a recent chart hit for DJ Alligator.
Second was gymnast Amy Fossheim, 12, who performed a fast-moving display. She is the under-13s British champion.
* The school is attempting to raise £50,000 to bid for specialist status in computing and mathematics, which could attract a £450,000 grant from the Government over the next four years.
It is £13,500 away from its target, with the deadline set for the beginning of October.
