EDUCATION staff from Darlington held a tea party to mark the Queen's golden jubilee.
The event, attended by about 400 people, was held at the Darlington headquarters of the Department for Education and Skills.
Pupils from Mowden Infant and Junior schools joined education department staff and their families for the celebration.
Entertainment included a magic show, Punch and Judy and Carmel RC Technology College's band.
Money raised at the event went to St Teresa's Hospice in Darlington and the area branch of Pets As Therapy.
Prizes, including one for a painting competition among local schools, were presented by Darlington Mayor Doris Jones.
