THERE'LL be a right royal song-and-dance next week with a light-hearted look at how the kings and queens of old used to rock and roll.
Period musician and entertainer Wynndebagge will be reviving the sounds of Tudor times at Kirkham Priory, near Malton, on July 20 and 21.
From 11am on both days visitors will be able to take dancing lessons and learn the 16th Century equivalent of the hokey-cokey as well as Elizabeth I's favourite, the volta.
The costumed performer, who combines fun with education, mixes music with anecdote as he plays English bagpipes, the cornetto, the cornamusen and the rausepfiele among other ancient instruments.
Youngsters will also be able to join in, playing a variety of accurate replica instruments from the times, including nakers, or Tudor drums.
