UP to 80 children aged from six weeks old to school age can enjoy a staff creche which has opened inside a hospital.
Six extra staff have been recruited to work in the day nursery which is based at the James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, and replaces an older facility at West Lane Hospital.
Michele Tullius, one of the two day nursery managers, said: "This new nursery will make a whole world of difference to the children and staff. The overall size is visibly different from West Lane and how each room inter links, makes the working day much easier for staff."
The nursery, which is painted in bright primary colours, has a large fenced off play area, an indoor play area and a "messy room'' for water, sands and painting.
