People in two York streets were evacuated from their homes when a man discovered an unexploded wartime shell in his back garden.
Nigel Travis was gardening at his home in Fountayne Street when he found the device, possibly from the First World War. A bomb disposal unit from Catterick Garrison removed it from the scene and disposed of it.
