WITH just a couple of points separating Murton from Peterlee, the leadership could change hands tonight even if both sides draw.
Every point is crucial and with Hylton and Silksworth waiting in the wings for any slip-up by the two leading contestants, there is every likelihood that the race for the championship will go right to the wire.
Murton, who were within seven runs of suffering their first defeat of the season when they had to hang on for a draw against Ryhope last Sunday, visit Easington.
Although the Collierymen are in mid-table, they have proved they can take on the best and even though Murton are at full strength, they will take nothing for granted.
Peterlee, too, name their strongest side for a potentially difficult game at Ryhope where a surfeit of runs is anticipated.
The home side are considerably strengthened with the return of professional Alan Dick and Kris Taylor is also named in Marc Hopkinson's line-up.
Youngsters Greg and Adam Swansbury stand down despite promising performances in recent matches.
There is another important fixture when Hylton entertain Silksworth.
A big boost to the home side is the inclusion of David Batty, whose appearances have been limited so far. Silksworth, who won one of their two matches last weekend and were in command of the other which ended in a draw, are happy to keep faith with the same XI.
At the bottom, Boldon CA and Seaham Park will be fighting for points to move away from the basement.
Russell Johnson takes over from the unavailable Gary Critchley in the Boldon side and Seaham Park are stronger with the return from Ryhope of James Taylor and Michael Evans who are immediately drafted into the side.
Dawdon, with a number of promising juniors, are unchanged against Houghton who are pleased that Lee Husband can play after recovering from a broken toe. Their batting strength would be enhanced if, as expected, Kenny Marriott resumes.
Bill Quay go to Castle Eden with James Phillips coming in for David Hunt.
Castle Eden will show no change for the clash.
