WORK on the £400,000 revamp of the Hambleton Community Centre, in Northallerton, has finally got under way.
The centre closed at the end of last month to undergo two months of refurbishment work which will see a new roof, floors and tiered seating installed.
The reopening in September will be marked with a week-long arts festival in the town.
District councillors are currently considering renaming the centre and suggestions put forward will be looked at by the authority and local user groups.
