RAILWAY employees earned their stripes yesterday - by casting off their suits and uniforms in favour of some rather more casual wear.
Employees at Arriva Trains Northern, in York, took part in an all-day pyjama party to raise cash for destitute children.
They were taking part in Make a Difference Day, and all the money raised will go towards helping youngsters found living rough on railway stations around the world.
Commercial director Dyane Crowther said: "Helping to feed hungry children around the world and provide them with shelter and education is an excellent cause.
"We wanted to do whatever we could to raise some much-needed money to relieve poverty - and put a smile on people's faces in the process."
