A NUMBER of community groups are requesting financial assistance from Darlington Borough Council.
The authority's cabinet will consider the requests for cash from the community leisure chest when it meets on Tuesday.
Darlington Community Carnival, which holds workshops in the area leading up to a two-day event at the end of June, are asking for £200 from the 2002/3 budget to help buy materials for next year's parade floats.
Darlington RA Ladies' Football Club also wants £200 to put the money towards new kit, as its current strip is in poor condition.
Branksome Residents' Association is among two other groups which are seeking £200 each.
It is looking to use the money to pay for two community football kits.
And Darlington Choral Society is looking for money to help pay hire costs for the Dolphin Centre's Main Hall, where they hope to play concerts in December.
Acoustic Space, a media project currently working with senior citizens in the community, is requesting £100 towards the purchase of video and film equipment.
