A FESTIVAL which brought a flavour of continental Europe to Darlington looks likely be repeated in autumn.
The French market held in Darlington's Market Square in April, was a resounding success.
The event attracted thousands of shoppers to the town to buy delicatessen goods, wickerwork and other produce.
No venue or date has been decided for the autumn market, but Darlington borough councillors believe another successful market will greatly benefit the town and help to boost trade.
Town centre officials are also looking at the possibility of setting up other specialised markets, such as a German Christmas market, to boost trade and raise the profile of the Darlington.
