DISGRACED Cistercian monk Brother Oswald told of his misdemeanours and woes at the weekend - as historical re-enactors came to North Yorkshire. Visitors to Mount Grace Priory, near Northallerton, were treated to the story of the 13th Century monk who was sent to the area to benefit from the strict regime followed by the Order. Brother Oswald, who was guilty of misdeeds ranging from selling church produce to eating meat on fish days, was part of the Ringwoods of History group, which provides a light-hearted look at medieval life.
