AS part of Alzheimer's Awareness Week volunteers have taken part in a daring challenge in a bid to raise awareness of the illness. The group from the Teesside branch of the Alzheimer's Society walked across the top of the Transporter Bridge, in Middlesbrough. The aim of the week was to raise public awareness about dementia and support for all those affected by it. To further highlight the work of the group, Chris Walker, branch volunteer, will abseil from the bridge on Sunday to raise money for the charity.
