CHILDREN and residents of a Teesside community have been working hard to get their area looking spick and span in time for a gardening competition.
The judging for Grangetown in Bloom will take place tomorrow, and yesterday pupils from St Mary's Primary School spent the morning litter-picking in the Greystones Community Woodland. In the afternoon, workers from the Future Regeneration of Grangetown (Frog) cleaned up the Millennium Green. Margot Hardman, environment worker at Frog, pictured above with Chris Puckin and Carol Moon, said: "The children did brilliantly. They were very proud of their efforts and they filled bags and bags of rubbish. Last week, children from Alderman William Jones Primary School were busy cleaning up their school grounds, so there really is a big improvement."
