FORMER Darlington Football Club's stars and their families have visited an exhibition to mark the departure of the club from its Feethams ground.
The Farewell to Feethams project is being run by the Darlington Supporters' Trust to mark the club's move to a new stadium on the outskirts of town.
Part of the project is a photographic exhibition made up of thousands of images taken in the past few months of the ground's life by members of Darlington Camera Club.
The photographs, with older snaps and memorabilia from the club's past, are on display at Darlington Arts Centre.
The exhibition is expected to attract 15,000 visitors and has already been seen by some important figures from the Quakers' history.
Former Darlington mayor Councillor Sheila Brown attended the launch of the exhibition and revealed that her grandfather, David, played for the club in the mid-1920s.
Having left Darlington FC, he went on to play for Nottingham Forest and was one of the team's most prolific scorers of all time.
Coun Brown has offered the exhibition a photograph of her grandfather, who still holds the record as the club's highest goal scorer in a season, with 39 goals in 1924/5.
Former Darlington captain Kevan Smith also made a return visit to the town to see the exhibition after missing the opening night.
