COLLEGES in Redcar and Cleveland have been told to improve their attainment levels by a Government inspector.
An Ofsted report on Redcar and Cleveland Tertiary College and Prior Pursglove Sixth Form published this week says the colleges' attainment rates for students aged 16 to 19 are below the national average.
It found that both colleges need to improve staying-on rates for students and widen access to courses.
But the quality of teaching was found to be good, with a wide range of courses at both. Inspectors praised the colleges' links with local schools
