EIGHT volunteers from Darlington Building Society have abseiled down the side of Darlington Memorial Hospital to raise money for a local charity.
The abseiling event raised £600 for the Friends of Darlington Memorial Hospital.
It was part of Darlington Dare, an annual event which raises thousands of pounds for the hospital.
Geoff Dawson, district manager of Darlington Building Society, also took part in the event.
He said: "It was extremely nerve-wracking perched on top of the hospital building looking down at the ground below, but the whole event was a fantastic experience.
"We are well aware of all the good work carried out by the Friends of Darlington Memorial Hospital and this was a wonderful opportunity to make a valuable contribution."
Another abseiler, Susan Hewett, said: "It was an absolutely fantastic experience, and for a brilliant cause. It's an experience I'm looking forward to repeating next year."
