A green disk is helping teachers in secondary and primary schools bring environmental education into the classroom.
The Big Green One is a CD-ROM directory, produced by Stockton Borough Council's environment centre, listing the best educational schemes run both nationally and within the borough.
It lists everything from computer programmes to workbooks, videos and day trips and in many cases can take the teacher direct to the website to find more information.
It lists the area of the curriculum and the key stage to which it is relevant. There are more than 130 schemes and projects listed on the disk.
The disk, which is free, is being used in 16 of Stockton's primary and secondary schools.
As well as being available to schools, the environment centre is making the disk available free to community groups and anyone interested in community education.
The disk is updated every four months to ensure the latest information is available.
Any school or community group which would like a copy of the disk should contact Derek Bates on (01642) 391189
