FIREFIGHTERS in Stockton are putting the finishing touches to a fun day being held at the town's station on Saturday.
Councillor Jean O'Donnell, the mayor of Stockton, along with chief fire officer John Doyle and five-year-old Rosie Henry will open the event at noon.
A cheque will be presented to Rosie, following a fundraising event earlier in the year, which raised £462 for the Northallerton firefighter's daughter who suffers from a life-limiting neuro-degenerative condition
Other attractions include cream teas, fairground rides, camouflage face-painting and fake wounds.
Organiser Jeff Crawford, a firefighter from Red Watch, said: "We want as many people as possible to come along to our Open Day.
"We are proud to show people round and have members of the community visit the station for a fun day out.
"We have organised a host of attractions and entertainment, which include a simulated ladder rescue, hose reel targets, a road traffic accident demonstration and a little Dennis fire engine.
"There will also be a display of vintage fire engines, so there really is something for everyone. The proceeds will go towards the Fire Service Benevolent Fund and the station's Welfare Club.
