A Catterick college has been chosen as the launch pad for a quality assurance project to help mark National Child Care Month.
North Yorkshire's Early Years Development and Child Care Partnership (EYDCP) has unveiled a new "kite mark" for child care providers - and Darlington College's child care centre at Catterick Garrison was selected to host the ceremony.
Children and guests were treated to a special tea to mark the occasion.
Pre-school groups, playgroups, childminders, day nurseries and nursery schools, after-school clubs, holiday play schemes, reception and nursery classes across the county can now apply for kite mark status.
Those who become part of the scheme will be committed to a regime which aims to ensure polices are continually reviewed, evaluated and improved.
