ARMED robbers attacked and slightly injured a member of staff during a robbery at an Indian takeaway on Tuesday night.
One of the raiders, who were both masked, was armed with a sawn-off shotgun, the other had a claw hammer.
Police said the men entered the Dial-a-Curry shop in Eddison Road, Concorde, Washington, Wearside, at about 11.10pm, but may have been in the area from about 10pm.
A spokesman said that one member of staff was struck with the hammer but was not seriously injured. The robbers escaped in the direction of Teal Farm.
The man carrying the shotgun was slim, and between 5ft 5in and 5ft 6in tall.
His accomplice was 5ft tall, and younger.
