Darlington Primary Care Trust is holding its second Happy Hearts Fair in the town's Market Square, in partnership with Darlington Borough Council, on Friday, July 26.
The event starts at 1pm, with the release of 500 heart-shaped balloons, and focuses on healthy eating, exercise and stopping smoking.
The public will be encouraged to join in salsa, aerobic and spinning demonstrations.
A marquee will also be in the square, where people can have their blood pressure checked, and get advice on nutrition and prevention of osteoporosis.
Children are encouraged to bring their teddy bears along for a teddy bear parachute drop.
Alpha Radio will be providing entertainment from 1pm to 4pm.
