AN open-air concert is being held at the Tees Barrage next month in aid of the Butterwick Children's Hospice.
Following the success of Handel's Water Music held at the barrage last year, British Waterways, Aria and Butterwick Children's Hospice is holding the concert, which has a children's theme, on August 25 at 7.30pm.
The concert will be performed by the British Waterways Orchestra and their orchestral manager John Milgate.
The music will include works from children's films, such as Harry Potter, ET and Star Wars and will finish with a fireworks spectacular. The BBC's Stewart McFarlane and guests will also narrate a performance of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
The concert will include performances by some of the region's top young musicians, together with David Pisaro, tenor, from New York and Emily Smith, soprano, from Middlesbrough who will combine to bring a flavour of the West End musicals.
Tickets for the event cost £10 and £8.50 for concessions. To book, call the box office on (01642) 659999.
