BLOOD, sweat, tears and sperm have provided the unlikely inspiration for an unusual art exhibition coming to the North-East later this week.
Fluid, a collection of pieces by 15 artists based on bodily fluids and functions, will be at Middlesbrough Art Gallery from Saturday until August 31.
The exhibition - described by Middlesbrough Borough Council as "challenging" - questions people's relationships with their bodies and looks at cultural and social taboos about bodily functions, using video, sculpture and textiles.
Textile conservator Caroline Rendall has put together a work by artist Helen Storey entitled Sperm Cage (Design 2).
The piece features tubes with sperm heads made of crystal and sperm tails made of silver watch chains.
