TWINNING ACTIVITIES: Members of Yarm Twinning Association had a very successful visit to Vernouillet, France, for celebrations on June 1 with members of the other twin towns in Germany and Austria.
Time was spent with their host families, visiting local markets and art and craft fairs. The final day was spent in nearby Paris.
The association will be hosting an international youth camp from July 27 to August 4. There will be about 60 young people and their leaders attending and they will camp at Crathorne. Offers of help will be gratefully appreciated - contact Sue on (01642) 888508 or Jayne on (01642) 800037.

AMERICAN EVENING: The Yarm group of the National Women's Register is holding an American theme party next Tuesday. All will be going in fancy dress in the style of Dolly Parton. The new season, commencing on September 10 will feature talks, discussions, outings and social events. For details call (01642) 781567
TABLETOP SALE: The friends of the Victorian Eaglescliffe fund for Preston and Eaglescliffe Memorial Park are holding a fundraising tabletop sale, which includes craft stalls and tombola on Saturday, July 27, from 10am to noon in Eaglescliffe village hall, in Yarm Road, Eaglescliffe. Admission is 50p and includes tea/coffee and biscuits.
RIDEWELL RIDEOUT: All are invited to take part in the Tees Valley's biggest two-wheeler event of the year, at Preston Park, Eaglescliffe, on Sunday. Meet traffic police, Stockton's Charter Mark award-winning road safety team, numerous bike retailers and cycling organisations. MAMMALS TALK: Come and hear Bob Brown from the Parks and Countryside Service talk about small mammals on Tuesday, at Egglescliffe library from 11am to noon. The event is free, but numbers are limited, so please see a member of staff to book a place. Children aged under five must be accompanied by an adult throughout the event and children under eight must be accompanied to and from the event.
LIMBER UP: Keep fit with Chris at the Layfield Community Centre, Everingham Road, Yarm. Classes are held on Tuesdays from 7pm to 8pm and on Wednesdays from 6.30 to 7.30.
