THE Darlington Motor Club ran the second round of their Wednesday evening trials on July 10 at Dalton Woods, near Croft, where 63 riders took part in a very easy trial ideal for beginners over four laps of a ten-section course.

Saturday saw the Weardale Motor Club hold the third round of their club trials championship at Killhope in Weardale, where 79 competitors tackled four laps of a very rocky ten-section course.
Michael Lee (Sherco) and Kirk Vitty (Beta) had a close scrap for the A-class win, with Lee taking it by a margin of four from Vitty, who would have won if he hadn't stalled the engine of his Beta in the ninth section on the opening lap.
Results. - Novices: 1 Ian Stephen (Montesa) 8; 2 David Humble (Beta) 13; 3 Martin Pratt (Beta) 20. A-class: 1 Michael Lee (Sherco) 4; 2 Kirk Vitty (Beta) 8; 3 D Ridley (Gas Gas) 53. B-class: 1 Scott Fenton (Sherco) 6; 2 James Grieves (Beta) 14. C-class: 1 John Richardson (Beta) 2; 2 Carl Hollis (Gas Gas) 8; 3 Herbert Scott (Beta) 12. Over 45 (all on Gas Gas): 1 Joe Pattinson 1; 2 Peter Bainbridge 3; 3 Tom Nixon 4.
On Sunday the action moved to Westgate in Weardale, where the South Shields club had an 81-strong entry for their Centre Supporters Trial.
