Othe weekend of July 13 and 14, Billingham Swimming Club were again at Pond Forge, Sheffield for the Northern England Champs, Long Course Event.
Ten-year-old Anthony Brown put up a good show coming tenth in the 200m freestyle.
Two 11 year olds - Chris Wilkinson and Bradley Dixon - swam brilliantly to qualify for the 200m free final where he came eighth with a qualifying time enabling him to swim in the Nationals in three weeks time. He also swam excellently in the 200m fly gaining fifth place.
Dixon also swam in the 200m free coming 22nd. 13 year old Philip Grounds swimming in two races came 19th in the 100m backstroke and 32nd in the 200m free. 14 year old Shane Hassall swimming in the 100m backstroke came 18th.
