NEXT weekend the small dales hamlet of Preston-under-Scar is the venue, yet again, of another collective art exhibition.
Artists occupy more than a tenth of households in the village and their annual exhibition gives them an opportunity to share their creativity with others and raise funds for charity.
This year, nine artists are exhibiting, ranging from the well-established such as Winifred Hodge and Janet Taylor to those who have only recently begun painting. Price and subject matter are equally diverse.
Much of their work is inspired by the beautiful countryside around them, with landscapes in watercolour and more detailed studies in pencil.
Admission is free and refreshments are served each day. This year, half of the money donated goes to the village hall. The exhibition is open from 10am-9pm next Friday, and from 10am-6pm on the Saturday and Sunday
