FRIENDS of a woman who died of cancer have raised money for a hospital in her memory.
Brenda Hudspeth and Connie McClune led the charity campaign at the Prospect Club, Willington, with a social evening in memory of Rita Cook.
Mrs Cook, who died last year aged 65, worked in Peter's Bakery and was a regular at the club's bingo and social nights.
Her husband Eric, of Commercial Street, Willington, will present a cheque for £200 to ward five at Bishop Auckland General Hospital, which was ward 14 when Mrs Cook was treated there.
Some money has also been raised for Cancer Research.
