A SCHOOL is launching a scheme to reward good pupils.
In September, Longfield Comprehensive School, in Darlington, will be starting a behaviour programme.
Pupils will be rewarded with Pride Points for completing homework, exceptional work or behaviour, or a helpful attitude.
At the end of each week, the points will be added up, and the pupils will be awarded a certificate - bronze, silver, gold or platinum up to year nine, and commendations in years ten and 11.
The aim is to improve behaviour so that all the pupils are given the opportunity to fulfill their true potential and gain the maximum from their time at school.
Teachers will record poor behaviour and pupils will receive a Tracking Score for each lesson.
The Tracking Score will be totalled at the end of each week, and if a pupil has failed to deliver his or her full potential, he or she may receive detention or a meeting with the headteacher.
