The Garden Farm in Chester-le-Street will host a massive weekend of top-class pool from Friday, 30 August to Sunday, 1st September when England internationals, Darren Appleton and Mick Hill will each have a challenge table to take on all comers.
The ladies will not be left out for top player, Vikki Layton will have a challenge table to take on any ladies who fancy their chances.
On the Saturday, Following the flyers and money matches on the Friday evening, the big Pro/Am event will begin at 1.00p.m. The entry fee for this is £20 with amateurs getting one frame start from the professionals. The prize fund for this competition is £500. A similar event for amateurs, also beginning at 1.00p.m., has an entry fee of £10 with a prize fund of £250.
On the Sunday there is a ladies event, again starting at 1.00p.m., with an entry fee of £10 with a prize fund of £250. Besides these matches all games will be played through from the quarter finals to the finish.

Bishop Auckland and District League
After 21 consecutive defeats Bishop Auckland Cumberland Arms broke their duck when they beat the visiting Toft Hill Three Tuns by the odd point in the deciding captain's game. The Cumberland had two singles points from Tony Rowe and one each from Dean Nicholson, Geoff proud, Nick Spence and Lee Maddison. The Three Tuns replied with one singles point each from Barry Thexton, Peter cardigan, Andrew Wilson and Richie Hughes, The Tuns took the doubles through Graham Cummins and John Harvey with Vince Hunt taking the first captain's game to level the match. In the decider Tony Rowe pushed the Cumberland to victory when he took his revenge on Vince Hunt.
Ferryhill Greyhound also pulled off a rare victory when they visited Bishop Auckland RAFA Club. The home side had two singles points from Bob Chambers and one each from Dave Sedman and Steve Cowley. The Greyhound moved ahead with two singles points from Chris Donald and Steve Watson and one each from Demetrius Pangrakiotis and Michael Cleasby. The RAFA Club pulled one back when Dave Gaskins and Bob Chambers won the doubles but the Greyhound completed their victory in style when Chris Donald beat Simon Roberts in both captains games.
Crook Olde Horse Shoe lead the table by five points from Crook Coach and Horses, who are ten points clear of Bishop Auckland Snooker Club B.

Spennymoor League
Spennymoor Half Moon made a fine start in the first leg of the Team Knock Out Cup when they visited the league runners-up, Spennymoor Black Horse and won by two points. The only singles for the Horse came from John McIver, whilst the Half Moon had singles wins from Mark Etherington, Ian Campbell, Paul Hartley and Kevin Malloy. The Horse took both doubles through D. Miller with G. Porter and R. Turner with J. Oliver. In the captain's game the Half Moon's Kevin Malloy beat John McIver.

Bishop Auckland Area League
The Team Knockout final was an all Spennymoor affair with The Penny Gill playing The Voltigeur. Team captain Chris Blenkin got the Penny Gill off to a good start beating Colin Bailes and then Kurt McCormack doubled the lead by beating David Graham. Voltigeur captain Darren Briggs beat Terry Mould to get the score back to 2-1 before the Penny Gill's Simon Shields beat Stephen Santi to claim the victory.
The final of the Doubles Knockout had Bishop Auckland King's Head players, Warren Stamp and Steve Bainbridge playing Spennymoor Wheatsheaf's Andy Mole and Kelvin Anderson. After two frames the scores were level but then the Wheatsheaf pair won the next two frames to give them the title with a 3-1 win.
Bishop Auckland Derby team-mates Andrew Delve and Stuart Milne met in the final of the Singles competition. Stuart took the lead by winning the first frame with a good clearance after gaining two shots but then, in the second game he missed a tricky black to hand his opponent the frame. With the scores level Andrew won the match 3-1.
Tow Law League
Tow Law North Point moved one point clear at the top of the table after they recovered in the doubles to beat the visiting Tow Law Cattle Mart, whilst Tow Law Dan's Castle A, who had shared the lead, could only beat the visiting Sunniside Comedian by the odd point. The North Point's singles wins from Alan Henderson, Dave Morton and Gary Watson were matches by wins for the Cattle Mart from Wayne Tennant, Alan Ogilvie and Malcolm Boughey. However the Point took over in the doubles and won all three.
