PEOPLE taking their lunch-break in Middlesbrough's Cleveland Centre yesterday were able to listen to one of the country's premier Balkanistic dance bands while they shopped.
The Baghdaddies played a mix of gypsy jazz, Balkan beat, ska, folk and punk.
The event was part of a series of free lunchtime concerts organised by Middlesbrough Council and Middlesbrough Town Centre Company.
Fresh from the Glastonbury Festival, the band are well-known on the UK and European festival circuit and have recently released their second album, Toon Tone, a collection of dance-hall favourites.
Other free concerts during the summer will feature performances by Jazz Girl, who will perform jazz classics from the 1930s, 40s and 50s, and the Noel Dennis Band, who will play jazz standards and original compositions.
