THE summer line-up at one of the National Trust's most treasured sites has been announced.
Children visiting Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal, near Ripon, will be able to follow a Fantasia trail, exploring the elements of earth, wind, fire and water.
The trail will offer the chance for children to enter a prize draw to win tickets to Fountains Fantasia, an open-air theatre event with mystical characters, fire-breathers and circus acts, to be staged on Saturday, August 10.
Other open-air theatre productions for families and children include Illyria's dramatisation of Kenneth Grahame's Reluctant Dragon, on Thursday, August 8.
Next Sunday, and on August 4 and 11, In a Summer Garden invites visitors to stroll around Studley Royal water garden and imagine life visiting the 19th Century pleasure garden.
Ahead of the events, specialist decorator John Mills, of York, has been adding gold leaf to parts of the Temple of Piety interior.
Tickets for all events are available by calling (01909) 511061.
