NORTH-EAST rock music prospect Pete Shoulder has been added to the line-up of the region's biggest free blues festival.
The 18-year-old, from Chester-le-Street, County Durham, who last year signed a six-album deal with recording company Sony, will open the Stanley Blues Festival on Saturday, August 3.
Celebrating its tenth anniversary, the festival will be headlined by former Fleetwood Mac legend Peter Green and also feature veteran Tyneside bluesman Ray Stubbs.
Pete and his former band Blue Shoulders won a standing ovation when they opened the 2000 festival that featured former Rolling Stone Mick Taylor.
The festival will be held on King's Head Field from noon to 6pm. Admission is free. For further details call Northern Recording on (01207) 507310.
