A PLAY telling the story of former world boxing champion Glenn McCory and his disabled brother has been rescheduled.
Carrying David, which had been due to premiere at Durham's Gala Theatre from August 29 to September 7, has been postponed to April 28 to May 3, next year to allow for changes to the script.
It tells the moving story of County Durham boxer Mr McCrory's relationship with his late brother David, who was severely disabled with a muscle wasting disease.
The play reveals how the Annfield Plain sportsman physically carried David as a young man, but it was his brother's humour, courage and determination to live which inspired Mr McCrory to achieve success in the ring.
Workshop sessions with the play's director and writer will be held in the autumn.
