YOUNGSTERS covered a combined distance of 500 miles on their skateboards as part of an effort to fund a Northallerton skate park.
About 25 youngsters took part in the first Northallerton skateathon, organised by local skate shop Popcorn, on Sunday.
North Yorkshire County Council's Connecting Youth Culture (CYC) team was there to support the event, along with local rappers Velocity and Shellshock who performed on top of the CYC bus.
Proceeds from the event will go towards the proposed £100,000 scheme to build a skate park next to Hambleton leisure centre, at Stone Cross.
