POP hopeful Alex Cromaty is to climb a step up the musical ladder this month when he joins a host of stars performing in front of 25,000 fans.
Alex won a talent competition, with the prize of standing alongside the likes of Toploader, Atomic Kitten and Liberty X at the Feel the Noise Live concert at Stockton Riverside.
The 19-year-old, from Northallerton, North Yorkshire, beat off the challenge of Middlesbrough's Emma McDougall to win the competition, run by TFM Radio and Tyne Tees TV.
Alex, who is a music youth worker teaching the drums and song-writing to under-privileged children in North Yorkshire, will perform a track he has written himself, Baby Girl, at the festival on Sunday, July 28.
He said: "It is amazing to think that only a few weeks ago I was sending my entry off and now I will be performing in front of all those people. I hope I do everyone proud."
