Frankie Dettori's presence at Beverley this evening is sure to add plenty of interest to what already looks a fair card at the East Yorkshire venue.

And the Italian can be on the mark on Ben Hanbury's Sorbonne in the Sailors Families Society Maiden Handicap over two miles.

Although the three-year-old may not be much of a price he's shown enough on his last two outings at up to 1m 6f on sand and, most recently on grass to suggest he can go very close here.

Ben Hanbury's runner should appreciate the step up to this trip and, as he's only lightly raced, is certainly open to further improvement.

Dettori rides the in-form Massey in the MKM Building Supplies Handicap over the extended seven furlongs but the front-runner may not get his own way this time and the vote goes to Parting Shot.

Tim Easterby's horses are in tremendous form and his four-year-old notched his second course and distance win from only three runs at the track when beating First Maite here last month.

There've been valid excuses for his last two below-par efforts and Ted Durcan, who is riding really well at present, gets the leg-up.

Oscar Pepper, Dettori's mount in the I.J.Blakey Handicap over a mile and a quarter will also be popular but he'll need things to fall just right and, at likely prices an each-way chance is taken with Rutland Chantry.

Alec Stewart's Murghob caught the eye on his handicap debut at Pontefract last time and should go close in the Family Day Is Next Tuesday Classified Stakes over a mile and a quarter.

Kevin Darley's mount could well be suited by this slightly easier ground this evening and he's open to plenty of further improvement.

Steve Gollings' runner goes well at this course and he was anything but disgraced having raced wide throughout behind subsequent winner King's Crest over course and distance last time.

At Ayr Fiddlers Creek looks an interesting runner in the very moderate-looking Cameron Lodge Selling Stakes over a mile and three furlongs.

Kevin Darley looks an interesting booking for the three-year-old, who looked very much in need of the outing on his debut at this course last time.

And Darley can also be on the mark at the Scottish venue with Double Obsession, who created a very favourable impression on his debut, in the opener at 2.15

At Windsor the best bet on the card could be Compton Dynamo, who turns out quickly after a good run at Warwick at the weekend.
