THE latest version of a police website has been officially launched by a 21-year-old university student who has spent the past 12 months developing it.
Vicky Robertson spent a year on a work placement at Cleveland Police's force headquarters, in Ladgate Lane, Middlesbrough, as part of her BSc degree course.
There has been a Cleveland Police website for some time, but the intention was to upgrade the facility on a regular basis with information specifically for the people who live and work in the area.
Julie Snell, information technology client manager, said: "The site is not about trumpeting ourselves, it is more about what people want to know.
"The public want information that is important to them and we have tried to make it that way.
"Vicky has done the development and design - and also research for the next version of the site. It will be continually changed and updated."
Among the numerous sections is one especially for children, based on ideas from local youngsters.
