Farmer John Lovegreen, whose estranged wife has been charged with his murder, will be buried tomorrow after a funeral in his former home village.
An inquest was opened and adjourned yesterday into the death of the 34-year-old, who had moved out of the family home Greenfields Farm, High Etherley, near Bishop Auckland, County Durham, to live at Baal Hill, Wolsingham.
His body was found in the isolated cottage on Saturday, July 7.
Home office pathologist Dr James Sunter told the hearing at Bishop Auckland Magistrates' Court that Mr Lovegreen had died from haemorrhage and shock due to stab wounds.
Darlington and South Durham Coroner Colin Penna adjourned the inquest until the end of criminal proceedings.
Jayne Lovegreen, 33, has been charged with murdering her husband, and is due to face trial in September. The couple have a ten-year-old daughter.
After the funeral service at St Cuthbert's Church, High Etherley, Mr Lovegreen will be buried in Cowshill cemetery, in Weardale.
