CHILDREN who will start secondary school after the summer holidays have been helped by their church.
More than 300 year six pupils from Chester-le-Street were given a copy of a book, called It's Your Move, to help them prepare for their move to secondary school, during a service at the town's St Mary and St Cuthbert Parish Church recently.
The book addresses some of the questions and fears children may have about secondary school.
It also covers topics such as homework and bullynig.
The church's schools and youth worker, Sharon Blackwell, said: "We found It's Your Move a helpful book for children.
"It helped them look at questions that they might not have thought about and a chance to respond to them."
