PRIMARY school pupils were given an insight into industry when they visited the BP-operated Cats Terminal at Seal Sands.
The youngsters, from St John the Evangelist RC in Billingham, took part in the visit as part of the Children Challenging Industry (CCI) project. The project aims to give young people the opportunity to learn about science and its applications in the workplace.
The group was given a presentation about the terminal and its operations and then taken on a tour of the site.
Year six teacher Angela Hull said: "The visit has been extremely useful and linked in really well with a topic on water in industry that we have covered in school. It is good for children to see where theory carries on in practice in the real world.
